Weight Loss Machines

If you go to the gym don’t be pressured into using an exercise machine that you do not like just to meet your weight loss plan. Everyone knows that the treadmill burns calories, but if you’re like me you don’t want to run. Treadmills can also throw you of balance if you’ve never used one, and no one wants to fall face first into a treadmill. Stair steppers are the machines I have the most fun with. I know that sounds odd but I like the shift in heights. I also like the fact that despite not burning as many calories as a treadmill you still burn quite a few. Stationary bikes can be a lot of fun as well. I recently found out that they could actually be harmful to you if it is not fitted to you. When you sit on the bike the seat should be high enough that the ball of your foot should be on the petal with a slight bend in the knee (5-10 degrees). Sitting to low can hurt your knees. I don’t enjoy rowing machines very much but don’t let me opinion sway yours. Rowing machines actually don’t give you just good upper body workouts. They are actually cardiovascular machines. I wouldn’t recommend using them if you’re prone to back pain. Rowing machines put a lot of pressure on the back. If you really enjoy a particular machine try not to get bored. Change the settings so that you can experience the full range of exercise offered by the machine. I find it to be a lot of fun trying out the range of things you can do with the machines. With the bikes it’s a lot of fun to change the incline and test the amount of work you are capable. I also believe you should try changing your machines every once in a while. You don’t want to get bored and other machines can work different muscles. I try not to put too much credit into the amounts of calories you burn as it can ruin the positive mood you created with you workout. I know that many times I changed from happy to depressed by looking at the calories burned. They are also averages so the amount you burned may be different as not everyone’s the same. I hope you have an easier time choosing a machine and make sure to get medical clearance before you begin. Hope these weight loss tips help
